Privacy policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This policy explains how CN Hair collects and uses personal information when someone visits this website, sends an enquiry or has an appointment. CN Hair is run by Cat, a self-employed hairdresser in London. Cat is responsible for this information (the “data controller”) and can be contacted at cn.hair@outlook.com.
What information is collected
Enquiries. When the contact form is used, CN Hair receives your name, mobile number, email address and postcode, the services you are interested in, the days and times that suit you, and anything you choose to share about your hair.
Appointments. For clients, Cat keeps appointment details, the services and products used, colour notes, and notes from your consultation. This can include allergies or sensitivities you tell her about, which are used only to keep your treatments safe.
Payments. A record of what you have paid is kept for CN Hair’s accounts. No card details are collected through this website.
Postcode checker. The postcode checker works in your browser. The postcode you type into it is not stored or sent to CN Hair.
Website use. The website is hosted by Wix, which uses cookies to make the site work, keep it secure and measure how it is used. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How it is used
To reply to your enquiry and arrange appointments.
To carry out your appointment safely and keep a record of your colour and treatments.
To keep the business and tax records that the law requires.
Information about allergies or sensitivities is only recorded with your agreement. CN Hair does not sell personal information or use it for marketing without your consent.
Who it is shared with
Personal information is only shared with the services CN Hair needs to run: Wix, which hosts this website and stores form enquiries, and Microsoft, which provides CN Hair’s email. It may also be shared with an accountant or with HMRC where the law requires it. Some of these providers store data outside the UK, using safeguards approved under UK law.
How long it is kept
Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within 12 months. Client notes are kept while you are a client and for up to two years after your last appointment. Payment records are kept for six years, as required for tax.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information CN Hair holds about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to limit how it is used. You can also withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, email cn.hair@outlook.com. Cat will reply within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact Cat first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
